The purpose of this Leading to Change programme is to provide a safe space for you to connect with other people in the system and to explore an equality, diversity and inclusion theme together through informal conversations.
In this session, we welcome Chloe Rose-Alex (she/her), LGBT Charter Development Officer at LGBT Youth Scotland. Join us in conversation about how we can embrace change and difference to build connections, remove barriers and solve problems. We’ll consider some actionable steps we can all take to build towards inclusive working practices.
Prior to this event, to help inform our conversations, we encourage you to read a blog that Chloe has kindly prepared, linking to the theme of the session.
Charter Development Officer at LGBT Youth Scotland
Chloe is a Diversity Equity & Inclusion specialist working at Scotland’s national charity for LGBTQ+ people aged 13-25. Through the LGBT Charter accreditation, she partners with charity, third sector and private sector organisations to guide them as they work to become LGBTQ+ inclusive. She combines her knowledge from a previous career in the private sector with experience and training in LGBTQ+ topics and youthwork.
Chloe has a deep interest in intersectional inclusion, inclusive workplaces & hiring practices, and reducing health inequalities for LGBTQ+ communities. She has confidence that through partnerships we can deliver positive practical change together at scale; working process by process to ensure that underrepresented communities have equitable access to services and opportunities.
The session will include an introduction from Chloe summarising the key messages from her blog.
After that, participants will have the opportunity to have a conversation in smaller groups, reflecting on the key messages and how they align to their work and experience.
Diversity Coffee Connect is open to leaders at all levels and stages across social care, social work and health in Scotland.
