Leadership Bites Takeaway Session 5 – The Kantor 4 Player Model

07/01/2025 -

Our Leadership Bites Takeaway is a 1 page brief that includes a recording of the topic or model covered, the slides from the session, some questions for reflection and to prompt you to consider what’s next, along with a couple of bitesize resources to watch, listen to or read to further your learning.

The focus of our fifth Leadership Bites is Kantor’s 4 Player Model.

”Culture is the sum of the conversations that take place in an organisation, who why not get better at having those conversations?”

Have you ever felt stuck in a conversation, like you and the other person are speaking different languages? Psychologist David Kantor offers a framework to understand these communication breakdowns through his theory of structural dynamics, commonly known as the 4 Player Model.

Beneath the surface of our conversations, there are hidden patterns shaping how we interact. You and your teams can get unstuck and move forward in conversations that are generative, productive and energising.

This resource is suitable for both those who do and do not manage teams.

Use our Takeaway as a reflective follow up to the session, or with your team to offer some focused development and conversation. Click the link below for the pdf or watch the short video below.
