NHS Education for Scotland and Institute of Health and Social Care Management: Empowering Conversations workshop

NHS Education for Scotland (NES) in association with the Institute of Health and Social Care Management (IHSCM) are pleased to announce a workshop on Empowering Conversations.
This session will be practical and interactive and will provide attendees with the opportunity to openly discuss the session content and ask questions.

Part 1 – Foundations of Empowered Conversations

• Discuss what is meant by empowered
  conversations.
• Understand your role and responsibilities.
• Explore how compassionate leadership.
  language supports empowered conversations.

Part 2 – Develop skills to support empowered conversations

• Learn skills that will enable you to create a
  safe environment (who you are and how you
  come across).
•  Explore the signs that enable you to know
  when there is or isn’t a safe environment and
  steps you need to take.
• Discuss the barriers and challenges around
  having empowered conversations.

Part 3 – Practical techniques to support empowered conversations

• Learn skills and techniques when
  experiencing barriers and challenges to build
  confidence (use coaching & feedback scenarios).
