Coaching is unlocking people’s potential to maximise their own performance. It is more often helping them to learn rather than teaching them.” – John Whitmore.

In this session, we will identify the importance of being a mentor, coach and advocate for others and understanding how to find the right time to step in each of these roles.

People sometimes struggle to define the difference between these three roles that are often synonymous with effective leadership.  Those in and around our teams, can often benefit from each of these at different stages in their career or in a project or role.

We will look at the difference between them, the skills and experience needed for each and how being able to step into them at the right time for the right people, can develop your skills and learning as a leader too.

By the end of this session, you will be able to: –

  • Describe the difference between coaching, mentoring, advocating and the skills needed
  • Explain how this is relevant to your role
  • Identify one step you will take to improve your communication as a leader

This event is suitable for both those who do and who do not manage teams.

Please note there are limited spaces available on these sessions.
